Not A Triumph Story

Abstract

In a collection of essays and stories, I explore the coming-of-age complexities of womanhood in areas such as the sport of running, relationships, and cultural upbringing. The title, Not A Triumph Story, refers to one of the stand-alone pieces of the collection but also the overarching themes presented in the work. These themes are revealed by stories of athletic failures, violence, and body politics.
