Abstract
I wrote BUT IT’S NIGHTTIME while pursuing an MFA in Creative Nonfiction at Sarah Lawrence College. The collection includes fiction, satire, personal essays, book reviews, and cultural criticism. Before attending graduate school, I considered myself unable to write outside the realm of nonfiction. Exploring different genres was the most exciting aspect of my time at Sarah Lawrence College. The notion that genre informs and enhances meaning has become essential to my work. This compilation reflects the breadth of my studies and the impact they have had for me as an artist.
